Truthfully, because as a young gay man, I kind of related to Freddie in many ways. Freddie says what I feel with a voice I could never have. Sometimes "everybody wants to put me down" and "say I've gone crazy" just for wanting "somebody to love."
So that and the fact that they wrote some of the most awesome rock songs in history, that's why I got into Queen

Because of their music, why else?
