The UK OIQFC trip people are staying in Newark. Very FUN people!
Separate from any FC stuff, a person named Chris who lives in New Jersey is talking about organizing fun stuff for that weekend, offering recommendations and maybe even special hotel rates. I had originally figured I'd drive up Sunday for the gig and home afterwards. Now I'm thinking I'll make a weekend of it.
It's been 20+ years. Let's do this right.
It's gonna have to be the parking lot people -- when in Rome, etc.
We should have some sort of protocol for meeting up in the parking lot -- cellphones, etc. I would love to spend an autumn day outside, singing and grilling.
Whaddya say? It's in the middle of nowhere -- it's Jersey!!!

If people are in town earlier, I think meeting up in New York on Saturday night might be cool. I have a friend who is a bartender in the village, and I'm sure he'd love to have us there as a kind of happy hour. Anyone game?

Daniel: Absolutely the parking lot. This is gonna be HUGE! It sounds like you're from near there. Do you know what the deal is with tailgating is there? There are no Giants or Jets games scheduled that Sunday. I'm sure they charge for parking, so I wonder what time the parking lot opens up? Do you happen to know? I guess I could call the arena and ask, but was wondering if anyone her knew or if they have done this for Springsteen or other acts that have a following who would do something like this.
Cool cover on the book, BTW.

I got this off the Meadowlands website:
Parking lots generally open 3-5 hours prior to event.
TAILGATING
Tailgating is permitted provided guests tailgate in the same space occupied by their vehicle. Please be courteous to your fellow fans -- open parking spaces should not be used for tailgating.
Grills are permitted for tailgating enjoyment, provided guests do so only in the same space occupied by their vehicle. However, their use near buildings or in any area where guests or property may be damaged is strictly prohibited. Please do not discard hot coals near vehicles or in plastic waste receptacles.
Open fires are not permitted.
Trash receptacles are located throughout the Sports Complex parking lots and near the Arena entrances. Please bag and dispose of your trash to make it safer for vehicles exiting the Sports Complex after the game.
Ball playing and frisbee tossing in the Arena parking lots and roadways are safety hazards and are not permitted. Many injuries occur as a result of these activities.
