Okay, this has got to be my all-time favorite Broadway musical. I saw it a few months ago when it was in Chicago, and I enjoyed it a lot. However, I finally got the soundtrack, and I just love it even more. I've been listening to it non-stop. Any other Les Mis fans here?

Favorite song? Character?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I LOVE LES MIS! IT'S FUCKING AMAZING!!! I AM LISTENING TO THE SOUNDTRACK RIGHT NOW, AS A MATTER OF FACT!

Favorite song is probably the Prologue, "I Dreamed a Dream," "Do You Hear The People Sing" or "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables." And of course all of Valjean's songs are awesome.

Favorite character? Valjean, Javert, and all Thenardiers. Favorite minor character? Grantaire. Character I would sell my soul for the chance to play? Fantine.

I don't think I'm the only Les Mis fan here, Alex. :-P

I'm listening to it right now also. I've actually been listening to it practically non-stop for the past week and a half.

My favorite songs are Lovely Ladies, Master of the House, Red and Black, Do You Hear The People Sing, and One Day More.

Favorite characters are Javert, the Thenardiers, Eponine, Enjolras, and Gavroche (I can't believe they shot him while he was singing about puppies).

I'm attempting to read the book, but I haven't gotten past page 3. My brother's girlfriend says it gets better after the first 100 pages.

I love that musical!! I studied it and saw it in grade 6 with school . . . it's amazing.

my favourite songs are: Who Am I, At the End of the Day, I Dreamed a Dream, and pretty much every Javert song. I can do the Javert/Jean ValJean duet with my little sister. :)

my favourite characters are Fantine, Jean ValJean, and, especially, Eponine.
Playful as a pussycat.

I like it too. It, and Phantom, really makes me wish I could sing.
I like Eponine and Gavaroche is cool.

She's right. I barely got through the first hundred pages, but it actually started to move after that.

I'm sort of required to read it, for reasons that I shall not disclose here. :)

It has great music but I have not seen it.

Abridged version or unabridged?

I read the abridged years ago and really liked it. Don't think I'd have the patience today to read the unabridged.

I'm reading the unabridged version, but I hear the only real differences are longer scenes and more minor characters.
