It's not one of my favorites, but still, I like the song very much.
It's a mix between the normal, the instrumental and some little pieces from the 5.1 remix.
The way you've comprised the song is great, and I love the instrumental sections, which you have chosen and sequenced just right. The phasing is OK at the part 1:20 - 1:30, in fact that adds a nice little 'flying' feel, but that's the only part where it works, in my opinion.
Great mix, one which I would keep, if it wasn't for that phasing effect. :)
Thanks!
It's funny, I've been listening to the BBC version of this for ages now, which I believe to be the best version ever, and in comparison, I found the NOTW version sounds quite flat. It's a shame they couldn't have recorded the whole album during those BBC sessions, and it's also a bloody shame they f**cked about with It's Late, as the full and proper version of that would have been to die for!

I think the NOTW version sounds flat too, funny actually is that the phase moment at 3:38 wasn't planned, it came from two versions playing at the same time. Should I really make this version again with less phasing?

Just my humble opinion, Dan. You should do what you think sounds best. :)

I totally agree with what Fickle says. Nice mix. But about that phasing sound... It works very well at that one bit. But to have it there for the entire song is a bit much.
Phasing, i.e. real phasing is not a pleasant effect. It can steal frequencies away from you and make the combined sounds crap. I recorded a band's guitar amp with two mics and it sounded hot. But when mixing them together, they created a sound that lost hi or even lo-end. Phase reversing (or inverting in Audition) will save you from this experience.
Peace,
Adam.
