Actually, I believe that was part of his earlier ancestry/relatives. Directly Freddie was Indian, and had Iranian/Persian relatives going back and..
...Yes I always knew..in fact, recently Iran allowed Queen's music to be released there for the first time due to Freddie having Iranian ancestry...(they origianlly banned Queen's music as Freddie was in their eyes gay which is illegal in Iran. (and stupid/bigoted/archaic)

What they mean is Freddie had Iranian ancestry, but he was NOT Iranian. He was born in Zanzibar, so that's what he was, a native of Zanzibar. His parents were Indian so that was his direct background.
That's like saying that I am Russian or German just because my Grandparents emigrated to the USA from there.
NO.....I am American, true blue. I was born here and I am a citizen of the USA. So were both me parents. My ancestry or bloodline or ethnicity if you will goes back to Russia and Germany due to my Grandparents...but that has NOTHING to do with where I was born..right here in the USA.
So what the jesters here are poking fun at is..of course Freddie was proud of his ancestry, but he was NOT Iranian. He was from Zanzibar and last I heard..had no children unless you count his cats!
