Hello friends!

I already bought the "Live at Wembley '86" Double CD some six years ago.. Do you recommend that I also buy the new remastered "Live at Wembley Stadium".. Does it sound MUCH better ? They both have the same tracklistings (13+15)..

It costed me some 35$ back in the days.. The new release is priced at 18$..

Personally I don't like this gig that much and the guitar STILL sounds terrible on the new master... I did buy it on mini-vinyl just to complete them all...

If it has the same track listing, don't bother. Try to get the U.S. Hollywood Records version, or the Japanese "mini vinyl" card sleeve as they have bonus tracks on disc 2.

I love this concert, one of my favourites, do you have it on dvd?!

Do you remember that the first release had been mastered in Q sound? I always thought that it made it sound slightly strange.

If you have no idea what I am talking about: http://www.qsound.com/2002/technology/main2.asp

What's that "Q Sound" thing? And How do you think it should have been instead?

The japanese mini-vinyl replica does not have the bonus tracks, just the HR edition has them. But the japanese release does come from the 2003 remaster (albeit tracked differently).

Interesting. It was originally listed as having the extra tracks. Obviously I don't have it... I had planned on getting the live card sleeves to complete my collection of them but I really hate just listening to live music.. I need video to really enjoy it.

I have no live albums at all yet, and perhaps never will :-P

I enjoy the DVD though, although the SVCD quality video leaves a lot to be desired. Here in the states, the DVD has been selling extremely cheap.. currently $9.99 at Best Buy. Cheap other places too. I had a strange thought that they might be trying to get rid of the current release and perhaps market an improved replacement. I know that's jumping to conclusions though..

In my opinion it sounds much better yes.

Bonus tracks aside, "Tutti Frutti" is also restored to include the reprise ending, which was edited out for *some reason* (that's QPL for you) in the original CD release.
