It's a hard game

This is the a remix between the instrumental version of "It's a hard life" and the vocal track of "Play the game" (that's why I called it "It's a hard game" ;).

I tried the best I could, I know the songs aren't in the same key, but it was more the idea of Jeffrey Todd and this is just my version of it.

And I know when you hear it for the first time, it sounds really odd.
But after a few times listening to it, it sounds pretty fun actually.

Not nice to listen to. Jeff's concept download was far more listenable and I actually enjoyed it more.

Some of the guitar bits are nice, but there are some terrible trip ups. And why did certain bits keep repeating over and over?

I hate to always disagree with Adam, but while it may be technically imperfect, I actually enjoyed it and thought it strangely fun to listen to! Thanks for your efforts Daniel!

Have to agree with Adam (shock, horror!!) Lol! Some of the guitar bits actually do work, but the vocals just sound what they are - out of tune. Maybe some pitch adjustment to the Hard Life track might be worth an experiment? You should be able to adjust the pitch while maintaining the correct speed. Just a thought...

Okay, I'm beginning to get a handle of Melodyne now. Remember the pitch altering software? Note by note!! I've already played about with a vocal and have been able to create the harmony parts and alter notes and pitches. As well as lengthening notes, too. Not bad at all!! This software rocks. :D

I decided after hearing this remix that I'd try and better the idea with the use of this software. I'll report back sometime soon about my result. Does anyone know where I can get a great quality copy of the karaoke track to It's A Hard Life? Maybe someone could upload one?

Bad comments? They weren't directed at you in the slightest I'm sure. The flaw was with the idea of mixing two songs that are in a different key, and not shifting the pitch of either one.
I'm sure that once someone does a pitch corrected version, it'll be great.

I'll tell you what though, you wouldn't even have to shift the pitch if you were to mix Hard Life with "Love me like there's no Tomorrow". The chorus is almost exactly like It's a Hard Life.

Absolutely! Technically, the mix was fine. It's the two sources which don't go together at the moment.

What I meant was that I knew that people would give this kind of comments (wrong key etc.).
I don't mind :)
I know they don't really fit, but it was more of a request from someone, and nobody else wanted to do, so I just gave it a try :)

Now you know why no one else wanted to do it! Hee hee! ;)

It's just a small taster. And I'm afraid that's as far as I'm going. It's really interesting to do and the results as demonstrated are most useable. But I think I'd rather get better at it first.
But sorry, I won't revisit this one for a full release.

EDIT: It's a lot of work to shuffle everything around and adjust EVERY SINGLE note and length to make things fit. That's the reason why I stopped. I got through the entire vocal and hard life track. But it was just too much for me right now. I've got a band breathing down my neck about their album and I've got very little time as it is to get my next due college project in. Sorry folks. I'll try and make it up to ya all.
