Let's start there that I cannot understand why they pay millions of Euro to David Beckham. Yesterday I saw Real Madrid live, and he nearly didn't do anything. Is he really worth that much money, or is it just his name?
That's why I ask You, English Qzoners: Why is he such a big star? What can he do that Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo or Zidane can't?

I think he's one of the most overrated players in history of football- that's my opinion anyway... He's reasonably good, but not THAT good... He became a laughing stock in Spain for a while anyway as they pretty much are saying that he's running pointlessly again and again... I believe they even called him "Forest Gump" or something- not sure... Also one of the most overpayed footballers of all time... For the kids - sure. But for Victoria? I heard in today's news that she never has read a book because she was too busy. She's a talentfree chic who had some hits (as a part of a group) in the last decade, but since then she's the wife of DB. They're both dumb, and I don't get why people adore them.
How can you say United are doing better without him? They haven't won the league since he left. He's still the best crosser in world.
We'd probably not have won the league with him either. Many Utd fans feel that he'd crossed the line in terms of his celebrity outweighing his football, and/or he was saving his best for England, which Utd fans tend to see as a Very Bad Thing.

i agree ringo is a great drummer. understated brilliance and totally suited to the beatles. i present his drum entrance to hey jude as exhibit A and his drumming on Rain as exhibit B.
he wasn't as flash as many drummers, but that wasn't what the beatles needed. they needed something original and something that complimented the songs which ringo certainly gave them.
