anybody else like this band? i am quite fond of them. i just got there eletric warrior album yesterday, Marc bolan is a genious! you're opinion?
Well, my brother had all their albums and played them through my yoiunger years so I've heard it all...but no I could never get into their music and never understood why people think Bolan is such a genius. Must be an aquired taste, of which I still after 30 years don't have for hi of T. Rex.

Funny thing is I like alot of other acts covers..of T Rex's music and think the covers are better.

The way I don't like John Fogerty or Bob Dylan, when they sing their own material, but I do like their songs when other people interpret them.

i was never into T Rex, but i thought groups from that era that were great were slade and the sweet

funny thing , these great groups, like queen , were never givin the chance in the usa, and that was a shame, i thought the sweet was 2nd only to queen in the 70s

The only song that I've ever liked is "Get It On", I bought an album just for that song and it's still usually the only song I listen to.

oh no, so very wrong about bob dylan.
his versions are usually many, many times better than the cover versions in my dylan obsessed opinion.
the only cover versions which i prefer are the byrds versions of mr tambourine man and my back pages.
most cover versions completely remove the meaning and passion in dylans material.
the crowning turd of dylan cover versions is bryan ferry's version of a hard rain's a-gonna fall, which reduces a beautiful tune and incomparable lyric into a turgid mid tempo camp fire boucy sing along, devoid of feeling for the original song meaning.

[but then ferry is responsible for raising that complete t**t of a son of his.
that over priviledged tosser Otis Ferry and his pro fox murdering, tally ho, royal family arse licking ways.]

sorry,
i got a bit carried away there

i also don't subscribe to the 'jimi hendrix did a better version of all along the watchtower' opinion, which is held by many people.
we've no ancestral halls, no haughty portraits on our walls, no family monuments at all, unless it's my cousin sheila's stupendous clevage.
I only knew Bang a Gong until I saw 'Billy Elliot' and then gained appreciation for a couple more songs that were used there. Cosmic Dancer is really nice, and I Love To Boogie is lots of fun.

Looks like a total of 5 T. Rex songs were used in that movie. Cool.
I love T. Rex !
ooooohhh!!! I absolutely love T.Rex!! :D

I like quite a lot of their stuff. Never saw them in concert but I did see one of the best tribute bands of theirs. They are called T. Rextasy - if you get the chance you should try and catch them live.
