knife-edge tremolo and a normal tremolo

Hi,
my Red Special does not have a knife-edge Brian May tremolo, i just have a normal tremolo instead.
What is the difference between the two in terms of vibrato?

The difference is friction. The knife-edge tremolo has less friction which should help it return to pitch more accurately.
