Queen tribute: Toyah Wilcox

Hello,
Don't know about any of you guys, but at Queen Mania a few months ago on ITV1, Toyah Wilcox sang Dont Stop Me Now, Its ounded dreadful, anyone else think so
Melanie c was ok doing One Vision
and G4 and Lesley garret were great doing Barcelona

I personally thought this show was an absolute shambles and should never have been aired.

It was just a poor excuse for z-list celebrities to get some tv coverage.

I mean, Tony Christie was only in there, because at the time he was at number 1 with Amarillo, G3 supposedly big fans of Queen but turned up on Madonna Mania and Elvis Mania and apart from G3 and Lesley Garret doing a respectable version of 'Barcelona', the versions of songs were garbage!

I don't know if anybody watched the second part of that program on ITV2 but not a single one of the people that appeared in that programme could name all 4 members of Queen. They also looked flustered when asked what 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was about. On top of that, some of things they were saying about Queen was just plain offensive.

An absolute disgrace to Queen!!!

O yeah i saw the one on ITV2 when they couldn't name John Deacon and Toyah Wilcox was slagging him off and laughing at the same time saaing "he was boring and never did anything"
and saying Brian tryed to copy Freddies flamboyant costumes in 70's

Oh yeah my god the show was appalling! Toyah Wilcox was terrible. Tony Christie looked a joke and couldnt sing Youre My Best Friend at all! I personally thought the show was entertaining but on a serious level if these performers were trying to do a tribute for Queen then it was offensive. Still showed how Queen cant be copied didnt it!

yea i saw it too, and yup it was pretty damn crap lol,, i enjoyed the barcelona version i thought g4 struggled slightly on the vocals but i liked it,, russel watson couldn't handle who wants to live for ever,

The whole show was a massive cringe.

Toyah Wilcox was a complete embaressmnent not only to Queen but to herself. She must have been pissed to have performed like that. Only highlight for me was Myleene Klass signing 2 Much Luv Wil Kil U.

I only watched it to see the WTBF tribute. Wet my knickers watching that.
The rest was pretty grim though.

My point is why rehash a discussion that had twelve topics at the time?

I can see your point Penetration_Guru but Johnny Knoxville was only asking. Yes, he should have used the search option but it was just politeness to reply, mate!

OK, you use the fucking search button and find out how many deeply depressingly stupid questions this guy is putting us through.

Then cross reference the timing of his posts with the original cunting ones about this god awful sub-reality TV abortion of a piece of Saturday night vacuosity, and you'll perhaps see why I may appeared a trifle miffed.
