I love this show. When Derek goes into a trance i used to think it was fake but the other week hes face really went into some strange shapes, cant be faking that! i seriously think hes going to pass out sometimes

The way I see it is, they all say that they have complete trust in one another, cause as soon as someone fakes something, there is no point in continuing. I hear people say "I believe some of it" - yet they believe that the crew dont trust one another? If you believe the crew trust - then you have to believe it all, including Derek's possesions. I think that is fair to say.
Speakign of Derek and his possesions, I'd say nearly each time he gets possesed, when he walks around, he has his eyes shut. For a man with his eyes shut, he seems to find his way around dark, unfamiliar rooms with much ease.
