cheers Serry, quick reply that!

they did well to lift the demo vocals out - those bits were very 'back in the mix' on the original

That was very quick Serry. I think you win this thread's cigar!

Answer was spot on too.

What a first class service this place offers!

Alex Solan: "Someone mentioned a cigar?
That and a glass of Bailey's. Perfect match =P"

Hey - It's YOUR birthday Alex. Sit, back, relax, and enjoy yourself in the QZ virtual pub!

I'll buy the first round, but NO WAY am I taking control of the Jukebox!

Hi there

I am Stuart Leathem and Nobody Understands Me was my creation.

I was listening to the Rarities 1 CD in the FM box set and thought there might be scope to have some fun with one or two things on there. I compose electro-acoustic music for tv and film (mostly BBC Theme tune stuff) and work on rather strange electro acoustic albums.

I am midway through the latest project and thought that it would be a welcome break to play with Freddie's vocals.

I understand it's probably sacrilege to some people to use such an arrangement with Freddie's voice but it was just intended as a bit of fun, hence the fact it was made available as a free download.

I have 3 versions of the song that all sound very different to each other. The arrangement currently on the site is quite slow and disjointed.

A lot of lovely emails were sent to me thanking me for putting the track out, I was especially thrilled to get a lovely message from Brianmay.com and I was also pointed in the direction of this notice board.

If I felt people wanted to hear the newer versions of the track I would put them on the site for download, although naturally not everyone will like them because of the sounds used and the style of composing.

In effect is it a real demo from 1984 made to sound like a new track with some 2005 composition.

Hope this clears the issue up :)

Kind regards and best wishes to each of you

Thanks for the reply Stuart.

As I mentioned in the Barry Mitchell thread:

"... the guys in here are a fairly decent bunch, and will, on the whole support you. Hope that you continue to enjoy your visits here."

I know that it is a bit naughty of me to ask, but, is there any chance that you could upload those alternative versions please?

It's not naughty at all. I have a very capable webmaster who maintains my site for me. It's getting a little out of date at the moment anyway and could do with something fresh!!

I will try and get at least one of the new versions on there over the weekend.

Thank you very much for your kindness and interest! It's a joy to break away from the serious composing for a little while and indulge with a piece of Freddie work for a little while.

Thank you very much Stuart.

Can we pretend it's birthday present for Alex (above)? ;-)

Ha ha yes why the hell not!

There should still be an arrangement of Happy Birthday in the sounds section of the site.

Alex can consider it his! :)

about this: "...but NO WAY am I taking control of the Jukebox!"

Why? What kinda musical taste do you have besides Queen? Maybe some guilty pleasure... like... Frank Sinatra o Paul Anka? I must confess, I really like Sinatra and Tony Bennett - shoosh, don't mention it xD[/QUOTE]

No buddy, if it's a jukebox involved, you play The Great Pretender by Freddie because it was in a movie and the jukebox Freddie gave an interview at, was in a Robert DeNiro film.
