Does anyone know how much of the original old lady is as was when she was built in 1964?
has it ever been re-fretted? re-lacquered etc?
more specifically, does she still have her original pick-ups in place?
OR...is this the case of Triggers broom? has it had three new heads and two new handles?

Re-fretted, no I don't think so. Re-lacquered, yes. Read all about Greg Fryer's restoration.

No, theres an old saying amongst guitarists that goes - "Look after your guitar".

On a related note - re: the Burns pickups
I actually read - or was told this by someone - that back in 1993 - the folks at Guild were working on their signature copies and wanted to get Seymour Duncan to make an authentic reporoduction of the pickups used in Brian's guitar.
From what I was told, when they were trying to re-wind the pickup to get the 'number of wraps' accurate, to the originals. During the process, they accidentally snapped the original wire and had to essentially re-wire the entire pickup over again.
Luckily Brian didn't notice.

Yes.
No she does not, Brian made the original pick-ups which were crap so he replaced them with Tri-Sonics.
Speaking of Tri-Sonics has anyone ever seen an original Burns Tri-Sonic Guitar ?. This guitar was certainly the inspiration for the RS the design is strikingly similar even down to the strange amount fret markers.

The original was made for about eight pounds, the most expensive part was the pickups.
