I didn`t consider it a flop back in 1997/98. Its quite a good song - in fact very similar to Brian`s version of "Too Much Love Will Kill You". And it did enjoy some chart success in several European countries (top twenty in the UK and also top twenty here in Austria). So why do people think it was a flop? For a band that didn`t actually really exist anymore in 1997 its rather a surprise.
And in retrospect it was the only new Queen song after Freddie`s death that was really original and brand-new (MIH not counting because it was partly recorded before his death). It was also more honest than all this shit with idiotic cooperations (Britney, Robbie), a lousy musical and retro concerts with Paul Rodgers (though I have nothing against the man himself). They should or could have continued as a three-part unit (Roger, Brian and John) and released new songs or even a new album (sung by Brian and Roger). In that way they would have treated the name "Queen" at least with respect, but whats happening today is just a farce.
