Hi
I just had this idea and wanted to see what all you guys think about it... Well the idea is taking one of Queen's songs or Freddie's solo singles or even songs from the FM Boxset or songs that were rocorded by Freddie and never saw the light of day yet, and take Freddie's voice and record parts of the same song with Paul Rodgers voice, so it will be more like them both singing at the same time, something like Queen + David Bowie in 'under pressure'.
So, Queen can release a single in the charts with Freddie and Paul singing together... Firstly, what do you think of the idea? Secondly, which song would make this idea work?
Thanks

I am Shocked and Apalled by this utter blasphemy!
A monstrosity I tell you it would be.
A mutant, morphed, hybrid of demonic proportions!
:-)
Christ on a bike, if you're going to suggest this..then equal opportunity for Robbie Williams.
I want a duet betwen Freddie and Robbie, NOW!
*waits for BPP to jump on this* ;)

Freddie doesn't like men with underbites :P
It is a very bad idea.
It kinda worked with Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole.
It really didn't work with Hank Williams and Hank Williams Jr.
Unrelated timewarp duets are even worse: I'm thinking of Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline...
Has Lisa Marie Presley done a duet with her dad yet? Or has she had more taste? Does Queen want to be the band with less taste than Lisa Marie Presley? Was the Made in Heaven album not enough of "vocals from beyond the grave" for them?
Sorry to sound so outraged. I'm sure some people would like it. I would hate it with a burning evil hatred.

it might be interesting to hear PR or even Billy Squier try something like Fight From the Inside...oh wait, Roger would sing that!
I remembered hearing a rumor that there were still some Freddie vocals they were thinking of using for the next Queen album. Ofcourse that was like 2 yrs ago and I have no clue how valid that rumor is.
And no, I dont think it could work. Like th e Michael Jackson fake demo with Freddie's studio recirnd of TMMLTT it's horrible... well maybe it could work because in that case its two seperate recordings, but maybe if Paul could work his vocals around Fred's it could be a sucess, obviously it depends on the song and how good it is in it's owen right. Let's say We are the Champions was never released and Paul did some vocals on that, it'll still be a good song, right?
i think it´s a bad idea.i have other.an album with
unrealeased songs from freddie and another new tracks from queen + paul rodgers...

Then there's Johnny Van Zandt dueting with DEAD brother Ronnie.
Persoanlly, I have always hated this tehcy tweaking of having the living dueting with the dead. Hey, whatever floats your boat.
I thought Natalie Cole's ''duet'' with Nat on ''Unforgettable'' was just that...in a disturbed way! However, she sold MILLIONS of records and I believe won a Grammy.
Oh...I take umbrage at Robbie, NOT the duet ( I was obviously joking).
But, I Never noticed Blobbie has an..Underbite?
