haha I really like Queen + Paul Rodgers, and I know that there have been many discussions about whether if it is Queen or not... so I´d like you to tell me if any of you have though about "How Can I Go On". It would be the same, but with Freddie & John...

;)

Sebastian and me wrote about it (as well as about RT+JD+Elton John tracks) on the next day after the fisrt news about Q+ PR Tour in 2004.

Sorry about that... I wasn´t able to read your post!

About what? I've just mentioned that some of us have had this thought too :)

i think it`s not queen
queen is fred, john, bri and rog
so...montserrat + freddie and john is not queen
and, bri and rog + paul rodgers is not queen
i will not complain about the current tour, and if it`s right to tour under the name of queen, but, queen, that fabulous and giant band, died with freddie, in 1991
they can do what they want, because they were queen, and we`re just fans

If that were so, then "It's An Illusion" would be a Queen track as well. And so would:

"Man From Manhattan" (Eddie Howell ft. FM & BM)
"You Nearly Did Me In" (Ian Hunter ft. FM, BM & RT) (wait, this IS pretty much a Queen track!)
"I Cry For You (Extended Remix)" (RT + JD)
"She Blows Hot And Cold (Alternative Version)" (FM ft. BM)
"Olympic Theme" (RT and JD)
"Smoke On The Water" (with Rock Aid Armenia) (BM + RT)
"The Stonk" (with Hale and Pace, et al) (BM + RT)
"Nothin' But Blue" (BM ft. JD)

Any others?

Guys! You forgot the following *really* Queen projects:
Larry Lurex - ALL FOUR members from Queen performed and recorded one track and three of them performed and recorded the other!!!
The Great Pretender - Queen + Peter Straker :)
Heaven for everyone (Cross) - it's not CROSS, but Queen + Cross :))
Also several Cross gigs, where Brian or Brian with John joined the band (3/4 of Queen!!!)
Then when Brian joined Roger on stage in Wolverhampton, March 1999.
Hysterically funny...

I consider Queen + PR as Queen,
I don't consider Freddie + John as Queen because they both have the most non-Queen sound

IMO Niek is spot on :P

Well, Freddie wasn't responsible for the Queen sound, he did have the recognisable voice, but if you listen to his solo stuff you wouldn't tell it's the guy from Queen cause it doesn't sound like them at all..

John is just the bassplayer, and it's almost impossible to make a full sound with just a bass.

Brian is the most responsible for the Queen sound, with his guitar and his vocals. When he is singing in the harmonies it sounds like Queen, even on his solo stuff you can hear it's the Queen sound. When you hear Brian play, even in a group with other guitarists you can always pick him out, cause he has one of the most recognisable sounds ever

Roger also has a big part of the Queen sound in his vocals which blends great with Brian, listen to the harmonies in No one but You or Winters Tale. And also the drumming sounds like Queen. When Brian and Roger played with some one like Eric Singer on drums it didn't sound like Queen at all. When they played with Paul Rodgers at the tv show last year it just sounded like Queen. Rogers drumming sound and style are unique and imo very underrated

Queen + 'official CD or vinyl releases', before PR, add

Emotions in Motion
Love Lies Bleeding
Shove It (kind of Q+)
Killing Time
The tracks from GH 3 (STL, TSMGO, NOBY)
TATDOOL (bside on the STL Tribute)

WWRY/TYMD w/5ive
WATC w/RWilliams

The 46664 tracks

I'm too lazy to look up any others (or simply too forgetful) and not nearly as knowledgeable as John Stuart and others

I do not suppose all QZers to remember thousand of thousands replies and topics unless they're repeating every day :)
