I've read your blog, Bob and I agree about GB's laziness... To have such possibilities and use it on 5%?! You have access to Queen Archive and answer on questions like who wrote Mustapha. Waste of time!
But about what Freddie said during the show - I can't agree, for the guys with terrible English (there are such guys and you know one of them) - it might help. And sometimes you buy the bootleg (if you're not a collector of course) only because of something what Fred said between songs, or because of what's happened on the show - so this info is useful, IMHO.

Come to think of it, I'd have to agree with that! But in Greg's book, that's pretty much the only interesting thing that other books don't have. Still, that requires very little effort, unless a particular recording has horrible quality, and one requires a minute or two to discern whatever it is Freddie is saying. There is, however, still no book about rating performances from a musical, technical point of view.

Yes I know, I've read his book. And I've seen your site, Martin's QueenConcerts, Harry's site about bootlegs and as I wrote before - these FAN (not 'Queen Archivist's with all posibilities what he has) sites are the best and most CORRECT sources of information what I've read about Queen lives.
(And I still can't understand who were experts in those bootlegs' project on QOL...)

Yeah, like Sir GH says:few people talk about the musical, technical side! It's always facts they're talking about:about the venues, about the clothes, about the number of people attending the show, even about the weather! but never about the music. After reading greg's book you don't have a clua about what was good and what was better
I've got just one thing to add:
Sir GH is not my friend, in fact we don't get along well at all, my opinion about him is about as bad as his opinion about me...
... but we've got (only) one important thing in common: we do research about Queen concerts for free, in our free time and into great detail. And then comes Greg Brooks who is paid for it, who has access to about everything he wants - and he's incredibly lazy. The first edition of his book was a result of a long investigation and I'm sure we all appreciated it. But the second edition brings nothing new although Greg received a huge amount of corrections and he has access to Queen archives. That's just unbelievable. And what is even more unbelievable is that Brian and the guys in Queen Productions don't know that and think he's doing a great work. Incredible.

I prefer not to read much of what GB says. There is too much scarcasm, innuendo, and politics involved in what he says due to his being on QP's payroll. I'd rather get information on Queen's history from the likes of YV, Martin, P_G, Bohardy, Banquo, Serry, Zeni, Sir GH, etc. These people aren't being paid for any research they do. They do it bc it is their hobby. Their genuine interest in Queen is what drives them to do the PROPER research. It is trustworthy and valid.
Of course I have nothing personal against GB, how could I? I don't know him. I don't like his attitude but I'm sure there are many that don't like mine either!! Deal wit it biiatches.
Wurd.

Never a truer word has been spoken than those words from the mouth of babe!!! Couldnt agree more Lisser.
I had to laugh at the comment regarding QZ "A colleague suggested I leave well alone, and I took that advice.". A grown man having to be told what to do eh? Bless him......... :)
