Fender..although he used different kinds of Fender: Precision, Fretless, Fender Elite, and the '54 model.
He also used Musicman Stingrays, Kramer Customs and Warwick Buzzards.
I find it interesting that his Precision in the early 70's was the same bass for all those years although he had it natural wood color because he chipped the paint off. I also did that with my Fender. Of course I didnt do it because he did it but I did it long before I knew he did it.

also there was a short time when he used a Rickenbacker. I want one of those! lol
