I was thinking something along those lines as well. After paying $30 for ROTC (which has already been dropped from my rotation), IMO the 3 of them (BM, RT, PR) should have formed a new band, gone into the studio and then toured behind the new material. By touring as Queen, they get the publicity, but they also face added criticism and are weighed down my the hits of the Queen catalog. I think if they had gone a different route, they still could have played the old Queen and PR songs, but would have had more freedom without the Queen name.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Queen+PR like BBP, but to me the heart of Queen was Freddie and the soul was Brian. The band was 30% Freddie, 30% Brian, 20% Roger and 20% John. 50% of the band just isn't enough to be called Queen.

They are Queen okay also when paul with them they are QUEEN AND PR okay fullstop
They play their song so does paul so they both work together and they are happy to go ahead
if it wasnt any good then fair enough but no it was brillant plus i saw them live they are brillant right cos freddie gone it not the band fault they didnt ask freddie to die he did that himself John left his own acord they didnt ask him to leave so it not queen fault
Brian and Roger choose to carry on and good for them
they have sold out shows if it was rubbish noone would have bothered to buy them tickets but no all sold out Japan looking forward to them so is usa so is other countries so face it QUEEN AND PR are not giving up unless they want to :)

Although I enjoy the Queen + Paul Rodgers gig, I have to say that I do agree with BPP that Freddie would not have wanted someone to fill his shoes. Although I obviously didn't know him personally, it just doesn't seem likely knowing what little of his personality I know through interviews and such. Having said all that, it doesn't really matter does it? Truth is Freddie is dead and he no longer has input in what the remaining Queen members choose do with their time and the name 'Queen'. Therefore, this entire argument is completely arbitrary. Just my humble opinion.....
Bryan's Permed Poodle is a buttarded ASSHOLE who can't accept the fact Queen has a rock legend like Paul Rodgers filling in for Freddie than some has been like George Michael or some British teen idol whom is a joke in the United States named Robbie Williams(not to confuse me with Pink Floyd's road manager from 1977 onwards).
Queen EVOLVED from the remnants of Smile which featured Brian May and Roger Taylor. They, plus Freddie formed Queen in 1970. John was the last to join in 1971! At least, they haven't let Queen evolve into Styx.
Styx was started by Dennis DeYoung and the only original member left James Young was the last to join and Tommy Shaw was a second generation member. When they fired DDY whilst he was ill in 1999 and grabbing some unknown schmoe from Canada to sing DDY's parts was blasphemy. Now Styx is a disgrace. Styx died when DDY got fired.
Genesis is Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford's band whom tried to carry on without Phil Collins with an unknown singer named Ray Wilson but were scorned in the US whilst the Europeans still loved them.
Pink Floyd is a complex story. Nick Mason was the only PF member to appear on every album however, he and Rick Wright are the only two PF members who did every PF concert from 1965 to now. David Gilmour joined as a FIFTH member in 1968 when Syd Barrett was still in the band and became replacement by default. Roger Waters was there until 1983.
Van Halen was great with David Lee Roth and when Sammy Hagar sang but with Gary Cherone they became a JOKE!
