When was this great song recorded cos it dosen't sound like 'Hot Space' era. It sounds more 'Miracle' and 'Innuendo'.

It was recorded in 1990/91. But it COULD be written in the Hot Space era.

Well when I've mentioned before everyone said it was in the Hot Space era.

Written, read closer, no one with half a brain would say the actual vocals or arrangement were hot space era. I love the song because it also gives you an insight on how they would've done some of the Hot Space songs differently. Like during the "Mama said be careful of that girl, Mama said that girl she be no good" I could her Freddie originally doing that in his "jive voice" (like at the end of Back Chat when it's fading out). Just thought I'd add that and that Hot Space would've probably sounded cooler if every song was recorded in a different era (minus the synths, drum machine, bass synths) can you imagine Staying power in the studio was real drums and a real bass? It might've been on Another one bites the dusts level. Maybe the same with Body Language.

That'll be a cool thing I'm sure Queen will never do: Take the Hot Space vocal tracks and update the arrangements (i.e. record new music)

i think you dont fool me is a great funky pop song, when i first heard it i thought it sounded very young/fresh i.e. imo i'd expect from a young band, i think it shows how young minded and fun orientated queen were(with freddie).
checkout george michael's "the strangest thing 97" imo it sounds heavly influenced by queens you dont fool me, or i could be wrong and it could be just coincidence lol good song tho:)

Didn't Brian May himself - on Brianmay.com say that the song was:

"...recorded in 1991 in Montreaux."

That to me seems quite definitive.

Didn't Fenderek list where all the original "Made In Heaven" tracks came from?

Hard to believe that the song became a college hit in the UK and US, for a dance track, when it was one of Freddie's last songs!

Everyone just read it in the GH3 sleeve, though there written that roots came from HS sessions. It's possible, but recorded in 1991.

"White Queen" was written by Brian in the end of 60s, but recorded and released in the end of 1974, so nothing strange...

have you seen promo video to this song?I think it was oriented towards college people

There seems to be some misunderstanding in here:

GHIII says that YDFM "resembles" the Hot Space era, not that it was written in that time, let alone recorded. Similarly Seaside Rendezvous resembles 20s classics but it wasn't composed in the 20s; or Need Your Loving and early 60s etc.

Excellent song, but I thought they could have done a little better with the recording of it.

At last amzing someone likes it. It's a brilliant excellent song.
