Did you ever watch 'Firefly' the TV series? I was wondering that since 'Serenity' is a film adaptation of the TV series, some of the people who watch the movie might not understand it.

Yes, I actually watched 'Firefly' before FOX decided to axe it (all of it that they played anyhow). I also own the DVD set and have seen the episodes that FOX never aired. That said, I can safely say that you do NOT have to have seen the show to understand it (though, I recommend the show as well). There is a scene in the beginning that sets up the movie to where anyone can understand and enjoy it. As a matter of fact, my brother and I took his friends to see it, none of which had prior knowledge of the characters or story, and all of them were blown away.
So, People, Go see it! It's really, REALLY good! It may actually already be my favorite movie ever... And that means a LOT coming from me.
