Champions 1979 error Help please

After taking 14 hours to download I cant play it.It says something about a codec error. What is that and how do I fix it? Im not very computer savy. Please help.

I'd suggest the player from www.divx.com, it plays almost all formats and has the proper codecs for all video's.
