Hi, my name is Darryl Johnson and I played violon during the recording of Who Wants to leave forever. This was 20 years ago. The recording was done in a studio but not with Queen band. They added the violons during the mix. However I participated in the video shooting a few months later.

Queen was one of my favorite rock band. I played classical music but I liked them a lot. Especially during the 70 and early 80 while I was in college. We'll rock you, Another one bites the dust were huge hits during these years.

I was devastated when I learned Freddie's death. I consider him as the most gifted and provilic member of the band. I thought that without him Queen couldn't be a band anymore. P.Rodgers has a very nice voice but I have trouble listening the songs without thinking of Freddie. I think that Roger should pursue his solo career or they should all write new songs together and many form a new band. Anyway this decision is all theirs.

I met the band during the shooting. They were very nice. I think that Brian didn't have a nice day, he had a hard time during the session. They all thanked us for the recording and that was it. I enjoyed the song very much and playing violon. Strangly I don't play music anymore. I was selected at that time and it was great but I never considered myself a great violon player. 20 years have passed but I still have some great souvenirs of this experience and I miss Freddie who was really the member who made Queen. I respect the other members but Freddie was really the core of the band. This is also why it has been so difficult for the remaining members to move on.
this is incredible if its true!!! wow imagine telling that to your kids or grandkids :)

A great story! Now all we need is for Bri, Rog or Deaks to make an appearance on this board... :)
I do not want any google ads here.
Nice try. Would have been believable if not for the Paul Rodgers comments.
Welcome on QZ....

I hope guy called BPP didn't played violin in National Philarmonic Orchestra... I'm sorry Mr Johnson, but... well, forget about it...
Suddenly we're critiquing grammar and spelling as a means of appraising credibility? Well, let me get my giant red marker out!
Thank you, God bless you, sweet dreams you lot of tarts, Good-bye!
Darryl Johnson has played bass and piano with Gabriel and Ahwai (Deaky's friend from The Immortals) some years ago, but about violin - I don't know...

I thought Connor took it, but then they made the rest of those idiotic movies, and now I just don't know. There can be only one, my ass!

Someone who has been playing the 'violon' for over 20 years still doesn't know how to spell it
"On the first day Pim & Niek created a heavenly occupation. Pim & Niek blessed it and named it 'Loosch'." (Genesis 1:1)
