Freddie was Queen.
If Jimmy Page or Randy Rhodes played with Queen they would have been better.

How many more topics are you going to copy/paste that that response into? Get a life.
let's keep track...is it three or four so far?
[QUOTENAME]me_and_my_innuendo wrote: [/QUOTENAME]That's what some of you guys have turned into. One day you are praising Queen for their illustrious career and inspirational songs. The next day you are slamming them for the choices Brian and Roger have made in recent years (i.e. The WWRY Pepsi commercial, and especially Queen + Paul Rodgers)
And don't get me started on all the "Brian May has lost it" posts. I don't like it one bit, you have no remorse, no respect, and no heart if you are going to say such things that desecrate the legacy that Brian has held up to this day.
Every freakin' night that he is out there performing with Roger and Paul, he plays it like he did 20 years ago, and keeps his head up, because that's what he would want us to do as well!
But no! You don't keep your head up; you lower it in "shame", or hide it in "disgust" because you feel he has let us down. Well he hasn't!
If anything, YOU have let him down.
It's all been said before. "Queen died when Freddie died", "Freddie was Queen", and "Queen is nothing without Freddie". That's not true; I apprecite every member of the band just as much as I do with Freddie.
You should too. Own up, and shut up, all you so-called Queen fans. That's all I have to say.
Knob. Go and kiss ass on BrianMay.com. Freddie WAS Queen and Queen + PR suck big time.

Those of you saying Freddie was Queen must have worshipped Freddie's solo albums and not enjoyed any song ever that was not written exclusively by Freddie and performed on piano. And you can go ahead and knock out any songs with a guitar or drum solo (which leaves you with what, Nevermore?). Bohemian Rhapsody wouldn't have worked with just Freddie. Neither would most of the songs he wrote and certainly not the ones he sang beautifully on that weren't written by him. Freddie would not have had much of a career without his bandmates. It's fine if Freddie was your favorite, it's fine if you don't like Paul Rodgers, but saying "Freddie was Queen" is either an impossible stretch or the most mindless reductionist slogan I've heard on any subject, even beating out "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve".
Most people who are hopelessly devoted to Freddie would choose "The Show Must Go On" as one of their favorites, and we all know it was written by Brian. Think about that.

By Sebastian: "THE SHOW MUST GO ON: That's a though one. The chord sequence came from Roger & John, then the other two sat, decided the theme and wrote the first verse. Then they all contributed bits and pieces including the producer, who suggested some keys, but the entire process was coordinated by Brian."

I'm not sure if you were trying to support my point or negate it, but my point stands. The song would not have happened with just Freddie.

I didn't support nor negate it, I'm out of such kind of discussions like in this thread. I just posted info about who wrote it.

I also think some of you are really disgusting and it's probably a waste of time expressing myself on here because you always go so over the top and make it into a big situation which it never is. This is a forum for Queen fans to talk about Queen. Or you can chat in the personal section. But most of you just want the excuse for a slanging match. Some of you probably don't even like Queen and you just stumbled on this site to have a go at someone, with your stupid foul language. If you are like that go in the street and have a row there stop bringing fans into your little tantrums. Now if someone qoutes me, to have a go I will scream.

See... Brian even then did force Freddie to sing a song called "The Show Must Go On"!
Fred himself would have never ever written such a song... ;-)
And if you listen very carefully to the fading end of the song it sounds like:
"...with Paul..with Paul...with Paul...with Paul...with Paul...with..." :-)))

Ah, I knew this would draw your attention.
Ladies and gentlemen, Bryans Permed Poodle is a prime example of the "corrupt, low-life scum" that I mentioned at the beginning.
Obviously some of you get it, like Linda Of The Valley and Arlene. And for that, ladies, i appreciate it very much.
Then again, a lot of you don't get it. I'm not saying every person on this board is stupid, it's just those that have their heads so far up their asses that they're literally choking on their spleens.
If you remember, in nearly every interview, Freddie pointed out that he is not the main member of Queen, he is not the only singer, and that Queen was all four of them.
Yet every one of you nay-sayers claim that he was the only reason Queen was big.
Yeah, that is partly true, but he couldn't have done it by himself. Much like how Bri, Rog, and John couldn't have done it without him.
Why the hell do you think Queen shared the songwriting on The Miracle and Innuendo?
Was it because they were jealous of Freddie? NO!
Was it because Freddie felt sorry for the rest of the band? NO!
It was because they, as a group, embodied the phenomenon we know as Queen. All four of them had impeccable songwriting skills, and by putting them all together, you have one hell of a band that no one can ever beat.
Think about every album that they have made. All of them have songs written by all four of them. All of them have a certain song we all like, or a song that made it big on the charts.
Maybe fans like songs such as WWRY (a Brian song), or Radio Ga Ga (a Roger song), or AOBTD (a John song). Some may also like Bohemian Rhapsody (a Freddie song), but they still respect all of the band, and not just Freddie.
I am nearly sick to my stomach because of those that continue to spread their crap throughout this fine forum, expecting people to listen to you. Well, we're tired of it.
That's all I have to say. Shame on you.

You make your case with skill, innuendo-lad (or lass?). I would add one supporting point: Over many years of collaboration, the iterative creative process can carry bits of one person into the other. So by late in their career, it seems fair to me to say that "Queen" wrote the songs, perhaps more than any one of them did, as no one of them would really have been just himself at that point. Even if one of them wrote a song alone, he went into that songwriting task as, in some sense, a combination of himself and the others.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.
thanks grey, and i am a lad lol

Being a fan doesn't necessarily mean appreciating everything an artist does, but trying to be critic of what you're listening to. If you think the stuff with pr is good, I wish you all the best, but if you're desperately trying to defend brian and rog no matter what they can do this is really sterile and pointless.
My theory is: first my taste, then my favs.
