Nothing is wrong with the review. Not a bad word to be honest. It's all truth as far as I'm concerned. A couple of good tracks, half a soundtrack - half not, not a coherent or rocky as the early stuff, they werent as popular in America anymore yet were still very big in Europe... whats wrong with that?

Freddie and John hated Gimme The Prize...
My fave from the album is probably the incomparable WWTLF. But I love the thick riffs of One Vision, Princes of the Universe and Gimme the Prize. But I must add that One Year of Love is a top tune, IMO. I wish they would strip the production of it down a notch, and maybe lose the sax solo. If it was just performed with say, Freddie at piano and John on bass, it could be a nice little sad, "sitting in an empty bar drinking away my blues" kind of song, if that makes any sense.
WWTLF is one of the greatest songs ever, IMO. Easily the best song on this album.
One Vision is a good song and it definately gained some when played live on Magic tour. you knowm, more guitars and less synths. It rocked! What a great opener for the show.
POTU and GTP are both quite good heavy rockers as well.
I'd love to hear the full piano version One Year of Love though. The few seconds heard during the film give us a clue what to expect when the vaults are finally opened.

Best song is Who Wants to Live Forever, One Vision, A Kind Of Magic & Princes Of The Universe are good...the rest is crap.
imo its a great album,
a kind of magic (original is cool)
who wants to live forever, classic
one year of love
one vision,
dont loose your head.

you really like a kind of magic? im sorry, but it was truly an awful effort IMO
anyway, my favorite has to be princes of the universe, but if i ranked all 9 of them, it would probably look like this:
1. Princes Of The Universe
2. One Vision
3. Who Wants To Live Forever
4. Friends Will Be Friends
5. Gimme The Prize (Kurgan's Theme)
6. A Kind Of Magic
7. Pain Is So Close To Pleasure
8. One Year Of Love
9. Don't Lose Your Head

AKOM
Who Wants To Live Forever

WWTLF after that most is subpar, but Pain, Friends, & One Year are beneath even that. Yes it was a chart success, but it doesn't mean its a quality album. Definately their worst.
who wants to live forever
forever
a dozen red roses for my darlin
friends will be friends (for lack of anything else to choose from)
