She was as much a cover as Mary for Freddie and she was at the airport in Germany when Freddie flew Jim in to see Freddie.
Freddie got involved with Barbara when he lived in Germany and Mary was attempting to have her own romantic life with I believe a painter/artist in the U.K.
Freddie was seeing Jim, and Jim soon moved into Garden Lodge at the beginninf of his relationship with Freddie, when Freddie still had a home in Germany..and Barbara would appear with him at public events.
