Hot Space is a GREAT Queen album. The last time the band ever took a chance and tried something completely different. The beauty of the band was that with every album they had done something a little bit off the straight and narrow.
After Hot Space, they became consumed by their management's desire to get the band to the higher reaches of the singles charts - at that point, the band became less fun and exciting to listen to. The excitement of getting tot he local record shop on the day of a Queen release completely disappeared because you knew exactly what you would get:
5 singles (of which you would already have bought one)
2 guitar-heavy tracks
The rest filler.....
Innuendo changed that but the eight years of utter tosh was too much....

Funny how opinions can differ....I've always thought Keep Passing The Open Windows was the beginning of the mess.....the pinnacle of the mess, actually. This song ranks right up there with The Macarena and You Can't Touch This in my mind.

Keep Passing The Open Windows - A 2 rating?! Are you nuts? That's a fantastic song that anyone who's ever faced difficulties can relate to. Great Song!!

nj queen fan rated Tear It Up higher than It's A Hard Life and Is This The World We Created! Sigh! Some people just don't get it.
Don't get what? I love Tear it Up, it's just one of my personal favorites.
