jeff scott soto

hello, i just found out that jeff scott soto made in year 2003 a concert where he sang 42 queen songs in a queen fan club party. well i heard all the songs and he is singing amazingly even songs like innuendo, flick of the wrist, princes of the universe. (and i really mean amazingly 100 times better than paul and i like how paul is singing but jeff is just unbelievable) i just thought that why isn't he performing or ever performed with queen ?

edited: oh and i don't think that paul should be switched, but just when next year paul is leaving jeff would be best choice.

Jss is quite good. But somehow he is sooo boring.
There is no "spark" in his performance.

don't cnow that, but i'll buy the dvd and i'll find it out soon, but i heard how he was singing innuendo, just incredible...

Well it was just my opinion. And I think that this dvd is worth watching. Setlist is quite impressive.

Jeff Scott Soto is a very talented guy! We hope to see more of him.

Jeff is fantastic....hope he continues doing the Queen tribute shows...

I've also heard of Jeff...........but the guy that gets them jumping is Gregory Finsley w/ QUEEN FOR A DAY! called "the closest thing to Freddie Mercury since leather pants! Plays the piano ...the whole bit!

Indeed did JSS a show for the International Queen Fan Club in 2003.
This show was officially recorded and released on DVD.
The title: “The JSS Queen Concert – Live at the Queen Convention 2003”.

42 Stunning Queen anthems performed by Jeff Scott Soto and his band at the Official International Queen Fan Convention - Prestatyn, North Wales, Saturday 10th May 2003.

There’s a quote by Jim Jenkins on the front of the sleeve that says:
‘Like seeing Queen alive again! Jeff is the ultimate front man to sing these songs.’

It’s not the best (Queen related) DVD in my collection, but it sure is very nice to have it and watch it.

Anybody who says Jeff is not a good frontman hasn't seen Jeff live. I have, he's excellent. I know what I'm talking about - apart from his DVD's, I attended his Haloween show the other year and went to his after show party and it was a fabulous night out.

Jeff has performed "Dragon Attack" with Roger and Brian so they are certainly aware of his talents. He also did a funked up version of this song on his "Love Parade" CD.

I would assume Paul was chosen over Jeff because not only can Paul sing Queen well (although he doesn't have as big a range as JSS), Paul is a big enough name to help Brian and Roger fill the venues they performed on the tour. Jeff is very talented, but is not particularly known outside the rock fraternity, and would have stirred a lot less interest.

I've been a JSS fan for several years and there are few more versatile singers, and few busier musicians. I really thought his big break would be with Queen, but so far, Soul SirkUS seem to be pushing him more into the limelight he deserves.

Oh, and Jeff played all the piano parts on the Queen tribute he did. They were pre-recorded for use in his set. He plays bass too!

Due to popular demand, Jeff's Queen tribute is sold out from his store on his website, so you're best off scouring the net outlets to see if anybody has any copies left over.

Jeff is currently an active solo artist, as well as the lead singer for Euro rockers Talisman, a member of disco cover band The Boogie Knights and the lead vocalist for the rock supergroup Soul SirkUS. Soul SirkUS feature Marco Mendoza on bass (Thin Lizzy, Ted Nugent, Twisted Sister), Virgil Donati on drums (awesome Australian session drummer known as The Thunder From Down Under) and guitar hero Neal Schon (Santana, Journey, Bad English). Their stunning debut album "World Play" was released via their own website, before being picked up by the Frontiers record label, re-recorded and remixed with extra tracks.

Jeff's latest solo CD is called "Lost In The Translation", also available via Frontiers records.

Yeah, it really surprised me that people think Jeff can't entertain or sing Queen songs. I would love seeing him touring with Brian and Roger. He would give the songs the rocky-feel again they need.

I love Paul Rodgers, but compared to Jeff he is far from a rock singer. Paul is more a blues/soul singer. Jeff is capable of catching the Queen feel much better.

Eventhough Jeff isn't as famous as Paul, he would have the audience going within seconds and people would be in awe when he performs, for sure!!!

I'm probably a bit biased. But hey, the guy deserves it and has the talent to blow people away!

Ah, bollocks, in his Yngwie Malmsteen-days he already was a great frontman. But maybe indeed, he does need a strong person next to him (like Malmsteen)
