euhm... Roger did a song called Nazis 1994 with the line: "we're gonna stop those stinking nazis" so I don't think he was a racist.
[QUOTENAME]Dear Friends wrote: [/QUOTENAME]I'm sorry Jaime, I speak Engish. Would somebody mind translating that. And Brian laughing along with Axl after a fan gets sit at in the face merely for being born with a certain pigmentation is dispicable and I'd be surprised if Brian doesn't have a KKK card in his wallet for times when He's want to see Axl or feels like go out for a night on the town and harass some little black school children. And just because Roger caught himself doesn't make it any better. The men simply wanted to complement his music and he has to go using slurs to describe them. That's tasteless. And I don't see what's funny about blacks (or n*****s in this case) shining shoes. Maybe a racist like you would find it funny but I don't. These guys are racist and only non racist can see that that. I' Might Just Obey Klansmen Instantly Now Gents.
actually, 'we're all God's children..."
Dear Friends, your post is totally inconsistent with everything Brian and Roger have done to support Nelson Mandela and progress in South Africa. My conclusion? You're an asshole.
If queen were racist, they would have never been the great artists they are, but they would sooner or later have sounded hypocritical and false as some morons accusing them of whatever not caring a bit of what they can do at least not to seem stupid. Queen, I repeat, are great artists, and consequently, some of the greatest men ever lived.
(Freddie spoke poorly of black) isn't Peter Straker one of the best friends Freddie ever had? He is black and on the videos it seems they had so much fun together.
Well .... normally I do not reply to such strange posts, but now ....
WHY do you think they played at Live Aid in '85?
It was to help all those starving BLACK people!
And YES did some shows in South Africa during the Apartheids regime, but they also 'allowed' black people to see the shows (Not just for whities !)
Listen to Roger's song "Nazi's" ... !!!
And ... Queen never was in politics anyway.
the only song which was a bit 'offside' was "White Man" and, in my opinion, they were bloody right with that one!
Queen a racist band ... NO WAY DUDE !!
They're just the BEST BAND IN THE WORLD, EVER !
And FOREVER !!! GOT THAT ?!?!?
Cheers to all of you here @ Queen Zone who have a normal appreciation of our favourite band ... ;-)

According to an interview I heard with Brian a long time ago the crowd at the Sun City concerts were mixed, not all white.
I can't confirm I as I was not there but I have definately heard Brian state that in an interview.
He also said something along the lines of the reason Queen did the Sun City concerts was because they believed going to South Africa and playing to a mixed crowd did more for getting rid of the divisions than boycoting the country. But as you say it did get them on the blacklist along with a bunch of English Cricketers who did a similar thing.

Roger Taylor:
Nazis 1994
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
We gotta stop these stinking nazis
And they say that it didn't happen
What the nazis did to the jews
If they think they've a second coming
Then we got different news
We gotta stop these stinking nazis
They say now it didn't happen
They say now it didn't happen
They say now it didn't happen
They say now it didn't happen
We gotta stop these stinking nazis
What the world needs is more nazis
Like it needs a hole in the head
Your future is not safe at all
'Til this disease is dead
We gotta stop these stinking nazis
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
They're saying now it never happened
We gotta stop these stinking nazis
Yeah!
Freddie Mercury:
"There Must Be More To Life Than This"
There must be more to life than this
There must be more to life than this
How do we cope in a world without love
Mending all those broken hearts
And tending to those crying faces
There must be more to life than living
There must be more than meets the eye
Why should it be just a case of black or white
There must be more to life than this
Why is this world so full of hate
People dying everywhere
And we destroy what we create
People fighting for their human rights
But we just go on saying c'est la vie
So this is life
There must be more to life than killing
A better way for us to survive
What good is life, in the end we all must die There must be more to life
than this
There must be more to life than this
There must be more to life than this
I live and hope for a world filled with love
Then we can all just live in peace
There must be more to life, much more to life
There must be more to life, more to life than this
NOW STOP THOSE SILLY ATTACKS!!
[QUOTENAME]Dear Friends wrote: [/QUOTENAME]The best part is that people took the Freddie saying the N word in an interview (never actually happened) and tried to justify t by syaing stuff like, "that's just his sense of humor." That was the best part XD
And people believed Roger almost said the N word too and they tried to justify that as well. Dumb asses will support racism if it means supporting Queen. That say a lot about the kind of "fans" this site harbors. Anyone who is guilty of what I said seriously needs to re-examine their life and find out where they went wrong.
Might I ask, why exactly are you taking time out of your day to post at a forum devoted to a band you clearly do not like? Have you nothing better to do? You've made your point. You see it how you want to see it, and others see it how they want to see it. Move on.
But if you still have a drive to bash Queen publically, here's a potentially interesting idea: Go to a forum devoted to anti-racism, and present your observations, along with these facts:
1) Queen played at Live Aid, which was a concert meant to raise money for the people of Ethiopia - black people, perhaps?
2) Queen played in South Africa as a means to unite different races, not keep them divided.
3) After Freddie Mercury's death, the remaining members of Queen started the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which was a charity intended to help worldwide AIDS victims, a large percentage of which are black.
4) Brian May and Roger Taylor have tirelessly supported Nelson Mandela and his AIDS campaign in South Africa over the past few years. They practically organized the entire first concert themselves.
Unbiased people will reply, and you will see what they think. Going to a Queen forum and posting something anti-Queen won't get you too far, especially if you're not presenting facts, but rather mostly exaggerated claims. Only mention the Freddie "interview" if you can track down an audio copy. Nobody here has heard such a clip. After you're done, post the link to the other forum here so we can all see what you came up with. You've gone this far, so don't chicken out now!
Just because Brian associates with Axl doesn't make him racist. My boss is a polish catholic bigot. Does that mean I'm a bigot as well?
