Queen+PR in Scotland

Hi,
Is there anyone else out there in Scotland that's a bit annoyed that Q+PR did not play in Scotland? I've e-mailed Brian Mays web site, but never seem to get a reply. Can anyone tell me if there is a phone number for the Queen Fan club in london?

Brian's reply to someone who accused him of snubbing Scotland:

"These journo's are just pathetic beyond words ...stirring up discontent.... how ridiculous. How dare this man accuse us of a 'snub'? Do they think we make this stuff up ...? This idiot thinks we don't WANT to go to Bonny Scotland ??? I'm half Scottish myself, for God's sake ! Jim has constantly told me it's been VERY hard finding a venue that will work. We are still trying to get the date ... but this kind of stupid crap doesn't help. Some things never change, I guess. I can't even be bothered to put this a--hole in the Gallery of Prats.

And that snide inference that "they're too big to bother now they're famous" routine ? .... give me break. Queen have ALWAYS included Scotland in our plans, and always will.

lol,scotland Queen+pr would not play their coz london is part of england,and ,scotland is part of uk.So whats the problem.

Well how would you like it if the only chance you had to see Queen+PR was in Glasgow, and you had to spend overnight up there because it was too far away, and spend money on a hotel or a hostel and also pay a pricey train ticket for a good 8 hour journey up and down from London?

(I know they played in Newcastle as well which is fairly close, but you see the point i'm trying to make.)

You have to understand as well that there are huge Queen (and Paul Rogers) fans up here in Scotland, but don't have the time to take a couple of days off to travel and in some cases don't have the money.

I was in queen+pr concert in japan it very great i have great time and everyone is very happy and enjoy themself.

Actually,i have never been to any concerts in uk or anywhere,coz soon as i here about it,i try to get the golden tickets but they are sold out so....it dont matter,i would travel to glasgow for queen,you see if your a true queen fan,you would,wouldnt u?

Some people don't have a choice in the matter, even if they love Queen to bits they can't make a concert which is too far away from them, for reasons such as work commitments or lack of money, the tickets themselves are expensive enough as it is.

So it has nothing to do with 'not loving Queen enough' or being a 'true queen fan'.

So Scottish fans do have the right to feel a bit annoyed at this.

No they're not coming but this person wants them too.

I flew to Aruba and L.A. for two of their gigs. It was not cheap. I would have preferred them to have played in my city but it didn't happen. I don't consider the fact that they didn't some kind of slight or insult to the state and city I live in, and I don't feel like the band owes me any kind of explanation for why they didn't play closer to where I live. I'm sure many fans had to make hard choices regarding how much they wanted to see the band versus how much money they wanted to spend on travel and lodging in order to do so. I'm sure many Scottish fans are disappointed the band didn't play any dates in Scotland, but they were still substantially closer to a lot of UK gigs than fans in the majority of the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South America, Russia, Australia, Africa, et cetera, were. I have a degree of empathy for *anybody* who wanted to see the band but wasn't able to for whatever reason, but when a gig was a few hours away by train as opposed to thousands of miles by plane, my empathy only goes so far.

exactly, it doesn't really depend on "how much you love them" sometimes it just isn't possible

New Castle is just outside of Scotland. Glasgow to Newcastle distance: 240 miles or 386 km. Obviously airfare is not needed - Only a 4 to 5 hour drive - Heck even a hotel is not absolutely necessary, but, anyway, the cost of a hotel is much less than the price of a ticket.

newcastle is way out of range for most of scotland! brian,roger and the front man should have played scotland i think they should be eternally sorry for missing the scots out
