It's like muting a signal 100% by putting the same signal on top of it, out of phase. Anyone who worked with recordings knows a full cancellation SHOULD occur, but in practice it never happens.

I tried to isolate the voice on Too Much Love Will Kill You but the result was not good. The voice was prominent, but the instruments are still in the background, especially the guitar
