Who's going to buy the new Darkness album (One Way To Hell...And Back)? I know, I certainly am! Permission To Land was a breath of fresh air, i fought.

I will definately be getting it when it comes out.
I'm still debating... I like the single (I'm still shocked about that), but I'd have to hear more of the album before buying.
I'm surely buying it, I loved permission to land and I hope this one will be even better! I also hope they are coming to Italy I missed them last time
yep I shall be.
Natch.
If 'One way ticket to hell and back' (honestly, I'm not sure if the Tap-isms are meant to be ironic with this lot) is anything to go by, I wouldn't buy the next Darkness album on pain of death.
Definitely. I can't wait! Plus, the 'debates' it's going to cause are always fun. ;)
i dont get the darkness- theyre ok and all i like them for them
but whats all this talk how they think they sound SOOO much like Queen even Brian told them off when they were saying that. i dont get it does anyone else think they sound like Queen?

i don't fink they are as Queen-sounding as is sometimes made out - they remind me more of AC/DC than Queen, to be honest. However, there are definately some glimpses of Queenisms - such as the beginning of 'Best Of Me' (b-side to Get Your Hands Off My Woman), which isn't entirely different to the opening riff (not Brian's stair-climbing, but after) of Tie Your Mother Down.
mind you, this is without having heard the new album, which is supposedly more Queen-sounding than the first...

And when is Brian supposed to have told them off? The Darkness do not exactly go around saying they sound like Queen now do they. They say they are heavily influenced by Queen, and Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC etc yes, but never that they try to sound like them. They also said that working with Roy Thomas Baker was great, and in Queen's old studio etc. But never what you accuse them of.
It's only the press and people who hate them for no reason who use these things as an excuse.

Having listened to it this evening, I think it's better than the first one (which was so-so).
It's a bit short though - 35 minutes....
