Why the flying V in POTU video?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I always wondered why the Flying V in the "Princes of the Universe" video?

whats this doing in the serious discussion?

Oops, yeah I went to look for my post in "general" and noticed I put in the wrong section, but really have you seen some of the crap that gets posted under "serious". So anyway "seriously" do you know the answer to my question?!

Maybe because of the pyrotechnics? Or the wind? Not really sure. Maybe Brian just thought it looked good for one of their more 'metal' songs.

I actually myself am playing Flying V- it's not the most comfortable guitar- but it looks gooood :)

I fI can remember correctly they raffled/acutioned it off at one of the conventions a afew years ago !!!!

I think it looks rubbish personally. Now Les Paul's, they look cool.

Because it fits better in the video. A lot of action.

If I remember correctly its not actually a Gibson Flying V guitar but another make of guitar. Cant remember where I read that though. Anybody?

Yeah thats it! According to brianmaycentral.net he used it because he thought it was too dangerous to use the Red Special on the set of that video.

I think the real reason was probably that it just looked cool :-)
