Eurail

Hi, guys.
As many of you know, I am going to Europe for three months. While I have my itinerary finished, I am having trouble deciphering how the Hell I use a Eurail pass and if that's the best option. Anyone ever used it? How tough is it for English speakers to navigate the train stations in Italy, germany etc?
Please help, as I am begining to get flustered by this! Thanks.

Yes... As opposed to walking hundreds of ilometers in frigid temps whish, of course, is much safer.
