Great, great song. Hadn't heard it before I got ROTC. But where does it come from?
This can't end well.
It had been originally written for the 46664 project.
Im Off To Shoot Myself If Anyone Cares .......
IMHO it's pretty awfull... bad lyrics, too obvious, a bit corny... and musically poor. The only thing that saves the song is Roger's voice...

Yeah, not the best Roger's song...

Agreed - the lyrics are embarrassingly obvious. They should really drop this one from the current set.
I have to agree with Fenderek and drwinston. The song has absolutely no power, no structured or layered harmonics, no artistic guitar riffs, no energy, and, unfortunately, it has very elementary chord progressions.

There is just no reason to get excited about the song. During a live performance, it puts everyone to sleep. When watching the ROTC dvd at home, everyone in my family skips over it. I don't even get a rise out of watching everyone throw condoms on the stage at the end of the song.

The only redeeming value of the song lies in the message.
Bah, The Call is great
"On the first day Pim & Niek created a heavenly occupation. Pim & Niek blessed it and named it 'Loosch'." (Genesis 1:1)
Songs with elementary chord progressions...

Great Balls Of Fire
Rock And Roll
Hony Tonk Women
I Want To Break Free
Blue Moon

An elementary chord progression is not a criticism in my world.
