Update on Aussie petition to bring the QPR tour to OZ

Hi everyone,

Just letting you know that the petition to bring the QPR Tour to Australia is going well.
We have had a couple of radio spots, some newspaper articles, and this week will be in the main Melbourne paper (circulation 1.5million - that's not bad for a city with a population of about 3 million!)

We still need a few more signatures before we can progress to the next step, and this is where we need your help.
I know some of you may think that a petition would be fruitless - why bother??

I will tell you why.

The girl running this campaign, Isis (along with an evergrowing team of supporters), is working day and night, calling media, getting articles in the papers, being interviewed on radio, and calling in all contacts in a HUGE (and in my opinion, a very professional way).
She is prepared to even spend her own money to do this!! She is inspirational!
Even if you don't live in Australia, and maybe have no plans to come here (even if a tour goes ahead here), I hope you can take a moment - if you haven't already - and add your name to the petition. This is all we ask from you.

What you prefer isn't important, nor anyone else who's behind this "campaign."

Queen and Paul will come there if there's money to be made. Appeal to the financial side of things and you might convince them.

You can scream for them to tour there all you want but if they don't think it'll be worthwhile to undertake such an operation, you're screwed.

Look at America. Lots of money to be made here but the guys were VERY unsure of the reaction they'd get, that's why they only did two shows. Since they both sold out, they'll come back next year. If you're lucky you might get a couple of "test" concerts to gauge reaction. I'd hope for that as a starter.

Despite the fact that doing so renders the entire process laughably pointless.

I love that fact that this is such a good idea (apparently) that it stands up to absolutely no objective scrutiny.

Also, could we have more facts please?

deadline date & number of mickey mouse signatures required would be useful examples....

I am only a supporter - I am not privy to all the facts and behind the scenes work. All I know is that lots of people are working hard to make this a possibility.

We are not appealing to Brian and Roger directly - they know where we are, and yes, whether they want to come or not is up to them in the end. We are appealing to promoters (I believe). Sorry, I dont have any more details.

Does it matter to you how many signatures we have - or how many we need?? Even I don't know how many we have - all I know is we have a deadline (not sure when), and I am doing every thing in my power to get the word out. I believe in what Isis is doing. If you want more details, then check out her posts in queenonline, in the aussie pub. Go on, the drinks are on Isis.

Thanks Jamie - we appreciate any support we can get. Our problem is, there are plenty of Queen fans in Australia - but of course only a tiny minority actually come to these message boards.
We are working on the main media here too - so it is not something just confined to these forums. This is just another outlet we are appealing to..........
