Brian May Sound Isolation

Did anyone notice that Brian is using a plexiglass shield in front of the bottom row of Vox AC30s? It acts as a sound isolation for the mics. We like the Clear Sonic products.

Uhhm, perhaps this should go in the section of the forum called "Blatant Commercialism"?

For the moment my life is alright without this special brand of plexiglass, thank you very much.

If you would rather not hear about my observations or what is going on with what is "commercially" available for Brian May products, say the word and I won't post here anymore. I've been a fan since 1976, saw Queen four times in the late 70's/early 80's, and saw the Hollywood Bowl show. I'm not some schmuck trying to whore out Queen. I feel extremely lucky being able to bring Brian May products to players that want to try to recreate Brian's sound! Every piece of gear is important in the process.

Did anyone else notice the isolation panel?

Yes, at the Brixton show when Brian leant on it and nearly broke it.

Did YOU notice the soapbox piece where he said he didn't like it so stopped using it?

Oh, and it has nothing to do with "recreating Brian's sound", it's about deflecting the noise away from his ears, as per most drummers these days.

He probably used it at Brixton because the venue is small and if the amps are turned to 11 the audience would hear only the stage sound, instead of the sound from the amps picked up by the microphones

Nice guess, but false.

He didn't use it when he played Brixton before.

He already said it was a newly introduced device to deflect the sound from his ears and keep onstage volume down. But he discovered that he NEEDS to hear the amps onstage, so ditched it.

It could be right ofcourse, since lot of bands have these curtains in front of the amps to kill the stage sound
