TEXAS!!!!!

I am sure the SW and MW will get their dates added later, but.... HELLO!! TEXAS ANYONE?????

Why do they make the tour so AWAY from Texas thus far?

If they don't add other dates(which I doubt), I will be forced to fly to San Diego(where my stepbrother lives) and see them their, flying out of L.A. after a 2nd show two days after.

I hope I am not forced to that(or that I see those shows, and they come to Texas.).

I also thought that was a rather large omission.

Not to be confused with a rather large emission, which is an entirely seperate topic of discussion.

yeah... im also in texas... and would love to see them in dallas.. as i work all the time and might not get a lot of time off.. .

Personally, I seriously doubt it. There is no indication that they will add anything else, but I'd be happy if they did.

Looking at the routing, I'd almost bet that you won't see any more dates added. There's not a lot of slop in the route, and although there are a fair number of days off, it'd be a real stretch to put in any more shows.

The one thing that makes me think they might be adding dates is that they are only booked on one Saturday. Saturday is the most lucrative night for concerts.

I also can't believe Texas was left out. This is very surprising, given the contingent of Classic Rock fans in general. I also happen to know quite a bit of Queen fans in this area as well. What is more, Paul Rodgers has been extremely successful here (to say the least) in terms of his solo tours and his later stints with Bad Company. Every show he has played at the Smirnoff Music center over the past 5 to 10 years has nearly sold out, and he also headlined at an arts festival at which over 20,000 were in attendance at showtime a few years ago.

Geography may be an issue here, but such a stop would seemingly be lucrative.

I live in Monterrey, Mexico and I was hoping for some Texas shows but nothing. I had the ooportunity to travel to some gigs in europe last spring and had a wonderful time but I figured out I could see them once more, now with some of my best friends over here, some of them also like Queen. Up to now, there's three of us and we're planning to fly to L.A. or Miami to see them live. Too bad the gigs are all seats but either way, THEY WILL ROCK... again.

If anyone hears anything about the slightiest possibility of the band going to Texas let us know. Some months ago there was this rumour about them coming to Monterrey, which is not that far fetched because there have been many cool bands coming here in the recent months and apart from that, Monterrey is turning into Mexico's business capital.

We can only hope, hehe :).

As great as it is that the band is doing this North American tour - and it will be great - I believe its unfortunate that the band is touring so early in the year - eliminating the possibility of any outdoor gigs. The Tweeter Center outside Boston would have been a "choice" location for a Queen/PR gig as well as many other outdoor spots around the US. Too bad....unless they do a second leg to the tour !!!???

y'know... i dont even see denver, colorado... no denver, no dallas, no houston or austin.... i hope they add more... i know a ton of us would love to see them...

I'm just as shocked that they avoided as much of the US as they did. But I think CharlieG's right and the tour schedule is so booked that more dates are out of the question.

I can't believe they left out Dallas, either. But if it makes you feel any better, they also left out Atlanta, another major city and hub.

Things could change, but I was looking at it strictly from a business point of view. There may be two or three gaps that could be filled with some interim gigs, but the current routing would say "No Texas Gigs" if I were doing the booking.

Moving that kind of gear, that many people, and getting the company off to the next gig with time for rest, etc., just kind of precludes a lot of additional gigs in the current schedule.

Of course, that's just my 2 drachma.

P.S. - Headed to California tomorrow to catch Trans-Siberian Orchestra in San Jose on Friday and Sacramento on Saturday. See them if you get a chance.

...and keep in mind that it does'nt mean those "30 dates" will be played straight through...

Brian and his BM Band did this to excellent effect in the States. First he came through with Guns n' Roses in March of 93'. He then returned that October solo!
