How can I convert a Real Player file or Quicktime format into a Windows Media Player file?

My DVD player will accept the latter, but not the former.

And how about converting a WMV file to MOV or AVI or MPEG?

For years now, this bloody PC has not liked WMV files, and whatever I've tried to do to fix that has failed.

Steve, download VLC media player and forget about WMP. It plays anything (except maybe RM)

This one converts QT Mov to DIVX/MPEG/WMV/ and more.

Once again I tested this with the Imagine QT clip from Hyde Park and converted to WMV with great results.

Thanks so much for this - YES - it really works! I was able to quickly and easily convert Quicktime to a Windows format - and what I know about computers, I could write on the back of a stamp.

If only the Realplayer files were as easy.

Cheers Barb, but I've already got Videolan, and it doesn't solve the problem I have with WMV files.

Thanks for your suggestions Alex. I'll have a look at those shortly.
