Yes and No;
No it was NEVER a Smile song - nor was it called 'As It Began, BUT it is true Brian May wrote 'White Queen' in 1968 (I believe) - but this was never presented to (or recorded) by the band.
This was confirmned by Tim Staffell: The Official International Queen Convention, Prestatyn Sands, 2002
