Or he should have enlisted in Chuck Norris' karate school. Or a combination of both. He would have kicked ass. A Norris roundhouse kick from a 130 lb Matthew Shepard would have quickly suppressed the situation.
You clearly have never seen Walker, Texas Ranger.
Well, Walker Texas Ranger isn't exactly the most accurate source.

I think you are asking for a Walker roundhouse kick, young lady.

FGT, I'm from a craptacular city near Chicago, IL, USA. Not very gay-friendly and nowhere near trans-friendly.

I'm from right outside Philadelphia. They're not very friendly in general out here.

Come on, in the City of Brotherly Love? Go Eagles! Haha. To be honest, I do not like the Eagles, but the Flyers have always been my favorite hockey team. I went to see Motley Crue when they came to Philly - last year, I think. Right now, I'm about 20 minutes from there.

One thing I do not like, though, is when people refer to Philadelphia as "the city." New York is "The City" and don't you forget it.

People always think others from cities are not friendly, but you just have to get to know them. :-)

Jail would be a lot cooler if it were more like it was in Cry-Baby. What a good movie.
