Of the people who have played additional instruments for Queen, i.e. the Spike Edneys, the Morgan Fishers, the Fred Mandels etc., who is your favourite? I think the main job the extra musos did on stage was the piano/keyboard parts of some songs...sure I've seen lots of SE playing guitar and stuff though it's never been too noticeable...anyway, of the keyboard chaps, I must say I like Spike's playing the most. Morgan Fisher, I quite dislike his playing in fact...seems to lack a certain taste, and he had a habit of throwing in his own frilly bits that didn't help the songs much. Spike Edney however was tasteful when he had to be, and at other times could go completely wild (and it sounded good, too). As for Mandel I haven't heard that much of his playing though he sounds fine. And looks a bit like Brian with his hair.

spike..I feel fitted in better as a band member, he loves the music, and it obvious to me the rest of the guys where comfortable with him, hey Rog started a band with him..The Cross, and he is still out there with them. Even went out with Brian on tour.. I like him, mandell was good, but I found morgan boring.

Easily the Red Special
Though he wasn't a musical member of Queens' entourage Peter "Ratty" Hince would be the easiest choice for "5th Queenie" of the band. He was with the band when he worked for Mott The Hoople during their first tour together and later switiched to Queen in 75 and stayed with them til 86 looking after John and Freddies' gear. Great photographer too.
Brian May. Well, I guess he would be considered an actual member though, right? He played guitar or something?
I'd have to say Spike....
spike "the wizard" edney all the way!!!
He was, he is, he will be, but on ROTC Roger introduced him as wizard.
Hahaha that's funny about "The Wizard"! But yeah the Red Special, forgot about that (him? her?)...and Ratty the roadie lol
Spike Edney, he was the man!
The Studio!

There is no such thing as a '5th member'.
