It's still better than most of the songs from WORKS and it bits entire Mr Bad Guy... They had worse...

Don't Try Suicide is worst than this one, IMHO.

Mr Bad Guy it`s an outstanding album!
I think Freddie was saving his best songs for his solo release, and in my opinion that`s why the "Works" sucks big time!

"Keep Passing the opened windows" is a great song and definitely could have been a single release. Better than "Hammer To Fall" in my opinion. By the way, "Keep passing..." always sounded a bit "unfinished" to me. Anyone else who agrees with this?

I also like the "Mr Bad Guy"-album and it seems that during "The Works"-sessions Freddie saved most of his energy for his solo project.

I actually love it, both for the rhythm and the lyrics. I like the verses much better than the chorus. And it's a great performance by Freddie. I love his 80s voice and here he sounds at his best.

Would have been a great single, probably better than 'Hard Life' (sorry, it is a great song and all, but probably a bit too personal; nevermind that it went on to No. 6 in the UK!), but needed a bit of trimming. That extended "just believe, just keep passing the open windows" outro was way too long.

Of course, it beats the crap out of 'Man on The Prowl', 'Tear It Up', and the album version of 'Break Free' any day.

Love that song.It have this great intro with that fast drum dr dr drdr dr sound..i love it.

I usually love everything you say Serry but surely you can't hate Don't try suicide. How could anyone hate that song, it's like a sequel to the bicycle race. I imagine if Mack wasn't there it would've been filled with harmonies and overdubs. It's a clash of the stripped down Queen Mack was trying to bring in and the old Queen, I love the song.

On the song mentioned in this thread, I love it (trying to avoid the kptow acronym lol) The heavy riff before the verses is so nice. I love the tempo too but could I see how others could think it's a crap song? Yeah, easily but not so from Don't Try Suicide.

The works is their worst album by far because it was just bland and mediocre from what I've heard (meaning every song on the album lol) Hot Space isn't great but it still has some residue from the earlier Queen left over on it. People only say it's the worst because it was beginning of the "dark pweriod" the works was extremely mediocre and IMO is by far the lowest ranked Queen album, followed by AKOM, which was a lil less mediocre. Ironically the only two Queen albums I don't own. I listen to all vinyl anyway but it says something when I don't shell out the 3 or 4 bucks it'll take to get second hand copies of those albums...it says I'm a lazy bum lol

Tied with Don't Try Suicide and Flash as the worst recordings Queen ever made in my opinion.

I like this song alot and it is great to run to.

Mack was the worst thing that happened to Queen- I hate his production with that awful drum sound that sounds dated now. Don't Try Suicide is very poor; terrible finger clicks, horrid fat basslines and Freddie trying to be Elvis yet again on The Game- and then the segue into the you need help bit is really clumsy. I love Bicycle Race- DTS doesn't deserve to polish it's handlebar! Mind you I can't stand The Game.

Keep passing... is okay, don't listen to it very much, it's one of those I always skip. But it's better than Man on the prowl (the only Queensong I can't stand)

YOU CALL YOUR SELF QUEEN FANS AT LEAST YOU SHOULD LIKE MOST OF ALL THE ALBUMS TO BE A QUEEN FAN. AND THE WORLS ALBUMS GAVE US SUCH GREAT SONGS AS I WANT TO BREAK FREE AND IS THIS THE WORLD WE CREATED AND HAMMER TO FALL. I BET ANY OF YOU HAD THE OPPUTUNITY TO MEET ONE OF THE BAND MEMBERS WOULD SAY THAT THEY ALL WERE GREAT ALBUMS. COME ON PEOPLE LETS BE POSITIVE. THERE IS TO MUCH HATE IN THE WORLD.
