A little bit of heaven and a whole lotta hell.
Dare I ask who this Elijah is?

He was a cute, mostly happy little fighter who gave everyone a lot of happiness ... at least that is my take on it. RIP Elijah.

Lori, thanks for checking in with QZ.

He was a baby, and he is no longer with us.

I am just glad that we had the privilage of getting to know little Elijah, from birth to his passing. I think I speak for most of us when I say that it was wonderful knowing him throughout his fight.

May he rest in peace and continue being a blessing to all that loved him.
I remember this and I'm still very sorry. I hope you are doing well? I'm glad you shared his story with us.
Comprende muchacho.
RIP. May i ask who he was?
RIP (I believe i was here when this happened)

Elijah was my 2 year old nephew, who was born almost 3 months premature. His intestines started to die within a few days. They operated on him to take care of this. But he only weighed a little over one pound. He was in the hospital almost a year before he could come home. In the meantime his mommy had another little boy (oops!) His name is Jacob. Because of the intense medicines he had to take, it damaged his liver. So he was put on the transplant list here. He only stayed out of the hospital a few months at a time. He couldnt eat through his mouth and was attached to a feeding tube and I.V's full of life sustaining fluids. By the time a liver donor became available, he was critically ill. So his doctor decided to do a 5 organ transplant. On Thanksgiving day none the less! He did very well at first. And was on the local and nationwide news. The only other one in Indiana did not make it. Around the first of January, last year, he started to develop a virus that only transplant patients get.He was put on a respirator to help him breath. His Dr. had antibiotics flown in from Florida. He said if he did not see an improvment in a week he had to discuss taking him off life support. On January 18th at 1:00 I got a phone call from my Brother saying they were going to unhook him from life support. We made the 2 hour drive to Riley Hospital, which felt like 9 days. At 4:00 pm the doctor unhooked the final breathing tube, the only one that was keeping him alive, and handed him to his mother. We all watched as he died in his mothers arms.
I'm sorry. I wrote a book didnt I? He was so special. I have pictures of him if you would like to see him. This was after one of his long stays in the hospital, before the surgery. Thanks
