There are many modern day punk/pop rock bands out there today... but what are your faves?

Mine are:

Green Day,
Blink 182,
Lostprophets,
Good Charlotte,
Simple Plan,
&
My Chemical Romance
Blink 182, Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, All American Rejects, Sum 41, Bowling For Soup, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy...

...All Green Day wannabes.
I have to say that tough, that the song 'Miss You' by Blink 182 is brilliant.

U2 arne't punk/pop rock but they still rock!
U2 was heavily influenced by punk bands, but their sound is more alternative.

"punk/pop rock bands"

That's what she said, which means "PUNK-rock or pop-rock". U2 is neither.

Moreover, U2 are DEFINATELY folk-rock. Bono even said so himself. I have serious doubts you even KNOW what folk-rock is, judging from your daft response.[/QUOTE]

If you listen 'Vertigo' you can hear some semi -punk elements.
Also some of the earlier U2 songs sounded sort of punk, but more edgy.
