Paul Rogers said it himself in the Boston Herald. He said that he was not replacing Freddie, he's irreplaceable. And he said the same is true with Brian...he's not replacing the guitarist of Bad Company (not that you care about that).
Not to mention, if he were trying to replace Freddie, why would Brian sing and dedicate "Love Of My Life" to Freddie at the show? Surely if Paul was trying to take Freddie's place, he would have tried to stop that before the show.
