I was watching the Magic Interviews on GVH2. Freddie was talking about what he might do in the future and he said: "you can be old and you might not have the physical fitness to run around on stage but you can still write songs...so one way or another the music will always be in my life."
While saying "you might not..." Freddie's face change into a serious one and you could also see some fear in his eyes...
It as been covered already, but I found it interesting because I think Freddie realize that the future might not be good and that the touring would end...

I don't think you're reading too much into it. Even if Freddie wasn't thinking about not being able to tour due to AIDS, he may well have been thinking about just getting older, too old to tour. Since that was his job and he obviously loved it, the thought of someday not being able to do that would be a bit heavy and potential frightening to him.

Maybe, maybe not. I had a cancer scare recently and I have to say, the very thought of something being that wrong with your health changes the way you think, look and act. It's possible that Freddie felt his mortality at that moment, though I'm not sure how many of us would have noticed it if we didn't know he was ill.

I think that interview with Freddie is a clear insight to what was round the corner, he knew the Magic Tour would be his finale & that's why he was convinced to do it.. he might not get another chance

He discovered that he had HIV in 1987, just before the recordings of Barcelona.
People don't you understand that even today rock n' roll is young? The idea and concept of people over the age of 40 seemed absured to people at that time period. By all means you all reading too much into that. As soon as Freddie found out he wasn't invicible and trust me if he were worried in the first place he would have quit the drugs and screwing random people probably spreading what he had he probably wouldn't have been making such a statement in the interview. It was just at that point in time no one new that you didn't have to be a certain age to do certain musics which is moronic to think that way.
Interestingly enough i wonder what his facial expression was then to Mike Read asking the band about touring in 1989 during the Radio 1 interview.

Good Point. Then i suppose its the hindsight thing. But id still rather go and See a group of 40+ year old performing awesome music than the crap thats out now from newer acts.
