This is hypothetical, but maybe, just maybe... Roger doesn't think Paul is a crap singer. If he did, don't you think they would have chosen someone else to sing?

You can always put words on a dead man's mouth. In almost 30 years of interviews to Fred he never mentioned liking Mr Rodgers (which doesn't neccesarily mean he didn't). So who knows ... maybe if tomorrow they've got a row with him and he quits, they'll hire Fab Morvan and say that Freddie's favourite album was All Or Nothing, and that Charles Shaw was the actual singer during Innuendo sessions :)

I agree with you. I can't say whether Freddie actually liked PR, but I do know enough about marketing to know that it doesn't matter. By saying the PR is one of Freddie's faveorites, Brian and Roger are just trying to get Queenfans to accept him. The main reason some fans are hostile to QPR is because of Freddie, so they try to make it seem that Freddie is on the side of QPR by saying that he likes PR.
That's all it is really. and though I like QPR, I hate to see them resorting to such tactics to win people over

omg how long did Roger know Freddie??? LiKE 20 some years or more right?? Well none of us knew him so it seems to me that Roger would know more about who he liked and who he didnt more then anyone in here would.
but Roger CAN make up words for Freddie so their tour will sell well

One quick question: what's the point to say that Freddie was a fan of PR? Huh? No-one asked Rog or Bri what Freddie thought about Paul. Who cares if he was a fan or not? And answer is very simple: it's an excuse to fans who don't like this project.

Yes, but it doesn't mean he wouldn't lie in order to get the bloody tour accepted.

Can anybody prove that Freddie didn't liked Paul?
Little example. I can call myself a fan of a few bands: Queen, Genesis etc... But I have lots of bands and singers that i can call my all time favorites. And if i've ever been interviewd i've never named any of tham. Does it prove that I don't like them? No. Nodody stands that Freddie was crazy about Paul. Brian & Roger just say that he liked his music. Is it so imposible to belive them?

Difference is that Freddie named a LOT of artists whom he liked - even persons like Lionel Richie... And actually Brian said that Paul was a hero for Freddie, not just someone whose music he liked.

As far as I remember Brian said somhting like Free were their heroes when they were recording Queen I. And Freddie was fond of Paul's singing particulary. Fred used to change his musical tastes dramaticly. But unfortunatly he didn't give interviews in 1971:)

wow fans here calling members of the band liars now and they call themselves true fans...wow some ppl just need to come to terms with reality,Queen+PR is reality now gotta deal wit it whether u like it or not,Freddie is gone , sad and missed yes , but the others are NOT and dont have to sit around for the rest of their lives wondering what could have been.Brian and Roger are what is left of Queen since John CHOSE to give it up, Freddie was a big part of Queen but was NOT Queen. If you are all such loyal fans u should be glad the others are doing what they love and are bein successful at it and not critisize them , be glad we still have them since we dont have Freddie anymore!!
I'm a loyal fan of Queen's music, but not a keen fan of Brian's, Roger's, Freddie's or John's personalities. And I'm not gonna support anything what they're doing neither agree with anything what they're saying. I'm not a fanatic.
> wow fans here calling members of the band liars
If you're referring to me, I'm not saying Roger's a liar. Neither I'm saying he's not. I don't know if he's lying or not since I don't know him and I never knew Fred. My points are:
1. Roger (or anybody) can easily put words on a dead man's mouth
2. Saying Fred was a huge fan of Rodgers is certainly an effective promotional trick (both if it's true or not).
And I still stand by those points. I'm not "accusing" Roger of lying, just pointing out those two possibilities.
> wow some ppl just need to come to terms with reality
And reality is that neither you nor me can know for sure if Fred liked Paul or if Roger is lying or not.
> Queen+PR is reality now gotta deal wit it whether u like it or not
It's absurd: there's no need to "deal with it". We can simply be absent from the concerts or write our complains on queenzone. If you don't like them you can try ignoring those kinds of posts and move on.
> Freddie is gone
And as he said in 1977 (and several other times the other three), if one of the four, anyone of the four, left the band, that'd be the end of Queen. Therefore, if Fred's gone, Queen're gone. The new band is something else, stealing the name of Queen.
> but the others are NOT and dont have to sit around for the rest of their lives wondering what could have been.
They can tour with another name :)
