What do we think of Jimi Hendrix then?
Because I bought Experience Hendrix-The Best Of Jimi Hendrix
My favourite tracks are:
Purple Haze
The Wind Cries Mary
Crosstown Traffic

I think he's brilliant, love all of those songs,
hes like the american Brian May for me, so whats not to love?

A wonderful guitarist and a true legend.

If you look up the word innovative, there should be a picture of Jimi there.

He forever changed how an electric guitar is played.

Whether you love him or loathe him, he will always be the greatest guitarist to grace this planet, nuff said.

I downloaded like, 10 of his songs.

he's a good guitar player, and a decent song writer. i'd prefer him over any POPULAR new artist, however i truly think Brian May was a better guitarist then Hendrix. I do have Are You Experienced? and i'm fond of it... but i wouldn't consider Jimi Hendriz my favorite by a long shot.

While respecting others' opinions, I loathe Hendrix. Terrible voice. Uninteresting songwriting. Great guitar playing. If his vocal melodies were as interesting as the double-stop guitar riffs he created, he would've been fabulous.

Two greatest guitarists in my mind are Page and May. Hendrix doesn't even approach them. And I now await the barrage of posts telling me how rediculous this is.......

My friend sings Purple Haze when ever we do karaoke....He makes Jimi Hendrix look embarrassing.....I do the same when ever i sing Queen.....Karaoke style...

I'm still waiting to buy his Woodstock DVD.

Buy the "A movie about" DVD. There an absolutely brilliant version of Jimi playing Here My Train A Comin' acousticly, amazing.
